Community Member of the Week: Easy Freezie

05 July 2013

Whenever there’s a beta weekend, you can see Easy Freezie in the game chat helping new players. That’s how we first met him. We were so impressed with his positive energy, his seemingly endless pool of knowledge and his willingness to help new users that we offered him a moderator role on the forums. Meet the man helping us maintain order.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Trevor MacDougall. I’m just a freakishly tall 18-year-old kid from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I have two younger brothers. I accidently got my 7-year-old brother addicted to gaming ever since he saw me playing Minecraft. I also have two of the most adorable kitty cats in the world! From kindergarten to the day I graduated high school, I attended 12 different schools. I’m a weird humorous guy that loves putting smiles on people’s faces and loves to interact with everyone.
I've been gaming long before I could walk, starting off small with Doom and moving my way up to GoldenEye 007. Once Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released, a couch potato was born.
One last thing, I LOVE Pepsi. That is all.
What’s the story behind your name?
I believe in 2005, I started playing a game called Runescape. I needed a name, so hey, I thought I’d rhyme words in my head till I came up with something I liked. Thus Easy Freezie was created. Sadly two years later I was teased constantly due to the fact my name was similar to the slogan of CoverGirl.
What’s it like to moderate the forums?
Moderating the forums is fairly laid-back and relaxing due to the extremely friendly environment our forums contain. Personally my main objective is to just remind others of the rules that are in place and to continue to have fun and enjoy the forums. All in all, it’s a swell of a time.
How long have you played Prime World?
I’ve been playing Prime World since the first closed beta. Been studying the game since I first heard of it in early April.
Favorite hero?
My favourite hero at the moment has to be Jaeger/Wolf Dancer. If you’re a new player, Jaeger/Wolf Dancer is a great starting hero for you to use. He has great damage output and is very easy to get the hang of. All Jaeger/Wolf Dancer does is summons his adorable little wolfies and do all the damage.
Least favorite hero?
My least favourite hero has to be Highlander/Immortal. As he is also a great hero to use for new starting players, he is annoying to play against. Highlander/Immortal has amazing sustain due to the fact he gains health when minions are killed and his ultimate lets him resurrect after he has been killed. Highlander/Immortal also is fairly tanky and can also deal high amounts of damage. Be careful when facing this hero.
Favorite mode?
To many players surprise, my favourite game mode is actually Native Land. The native terrain aspect in Borderlands is one of the main additions that makes that mode unique. Having a separate mode that focuses on the native terrain aspect pleases me. It provides a lot of new and unorthodox strategies that catches players by surprise.
Least favorite mode?
I love all the game modes to be honest, but the one I would probably play the least would have to be Switcharoo. I love the concept of the mode, and I love trying out other players’ hero builds and seeing how they use that hero. The only thing I dislike about the mode is when other users get upset with the hero they’ve received and/or dislike the build of the hero.
How did you find out about the game?
I found out about Prime World from MMOHut’s First Look video. Been hooked ever since.
What was your first impression of the game?
When I first saw gameplay, the first thing that came to mind was, “Hey look! Another MOBA to try out!” Then I dove deeper, found Nival’s livestream and saw great potential. My first in-game impression of the game was beyond amazing. To be honest, I spent most of my time just talking to everyone in world chat and helping out.
What’s your favorite Prime World memory so far?
Yeah, this is going to sound cheesy, but it’s true. My favorite memory has to be the community in general. The overhaul of users always helping out each other is astonishing, and the lack of rage-infused players is a plus. I’m glad we have one of the greatest communities a game could have.
Do you have any other hobbies?
I don’t have too many other hobbies anymore. Sports is one. I use to play hockey and soccer all the time ever since I was little, but became extremely unhealthy and I can’t play sports as competitively anymore. I will always watch sports whenever possible, mainly hockey of course.
Math is another. I am obsessed with numbers. Everything in our everyday lives involves these mathematical critters and it just fascinates me. When it comes to symmetry, I go full blown OCD over it. Tons of normal non-important things have to be even or my head explodes. For instance, the Castle in Prime World, as even as it can get.
Do you have any advice for newer players?
My biggest advice for new players is to ask questions. No matter how “nooby” the question may be, don't be afraid to ask. Another piece of advice would have to be native terrain. Native terrain is one of the many unique features this game has to offer. Beside each tower is a flag; capturing said flag will give your team extra bonus stats when on your native terrain.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
If anyone has any additional questions about anything don’t hesitate to ask, that’s what I’m here for. If you need anyone to play with, add me in-game and I’ll be sure to help out. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about me. Hope to play with you all in the future.
