Patch 10.14

23 March 2017

Lords and Ladies!

Update 10.14 is installed and the servers are live! Hellblade has come to your castles, new talents have filled out the Legendary Epic set, and some interesting rebalancing has been applied!

New Hero

Hellblade is the incarnation of the wrath and fury of a world where the inhabitants of Praia once dared not to meddle. The mages entered pacts with the demons and the Demonologists enslaved lower creatures, but none have bound themselves in blood to the demons – none until Hellblade.

You can read more about this new hero here.

Like previously added heroes, you can get Hellblade in one of three ways:

  1. Complete a seven-day quest chain, then recruit Hellblade for 750,000 silver. The first quest in the chain is already unlocked, and the last will be unlocked on March 29. Once you complete the last, a quest will appear allowing you to pay silver to recruit Hellblade.
  2. The normal way to recruit Hellblade (paying silver without having to complete any quests) will be available for all players with a castle level of 25 and up from April 5 onward.
  3. Hellblade can also be hired immediately for 299 gold.

With the release of this new hero, the price of Raven has been reduced to 500,000 silver and 199 gold.

Here are 5 first Lords and Ladies who guessed the unusual feature or detail in the appearance of the ne Hero - horns. These players will receive Hellblade for free:

New Talents

Update 10.14 has brought five new legendary heroes to Praia, one for each of the Legendary Epic set. Cry of Doom can now slow down an opponent, the new ax helps seize enemy forest, and the new Forest Symbol upgrade will interest Mage heroes whose abilities damage a single target.

Chilling Cry

  • Cry of Doom set
  • Required grade: IV
  • Learning cost: 825 prime crystals
  • Increases Cunning by 6.3
  • Increases Agility by 6.3
  • the Cry of Doom talent lasts for 1 second longer. Activating this talent also slows the target down by 40% for 3 seconds.

Illusions of Freedom

  • Explosive Illusion set
  • Required grade: IV
  • Learning cost: 825 prime crystals
  • Increases Agility by 12.5
  • the Explosive Illusion talent also deals up to 50% damage, depending on the illusion’s lifetime.

Flame of Distortion

  • Treacherous Flame set
  • Required grade: VI
  • Learning cost: 1600 prime crystals
  • Increases Intellect by 14
  • Increases Cunning by 9
  • all enemies near the target of Treacherous Flame deal 10% less damage to targets outside of the talent’s area of effect.

Diversion Dominance

  • Absolute Dominance set
  • Required grade: I
  • Learning cost: 350 prime crystals
  • Increases Life Drain by 7.6
  • on neutral or enemy territory, the hero’s attacks deal an additional 15 physical damage to soldiers and the Touched with the Absolute Dominance talent.

Forest Wrath

  • Forest Symbol set
  • Required grade: V
  • Learning cost: 1160 prime crystals
  • the Forest Symbol talent deals an additional 18 magic damage. The damage
  • is distributed evenly among targets affected;
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 8
  • Increases Cunning by 10

Cryo / Blizzard

Added Energy burn to abilities, reworked the Blizzard upgrade

The usefulness of this hero in the center lane has been debated for quite a long time now. It seems she has one of the strongest stuns in the game and good combo damage, but in the current aggressive meta, the ice queen was missing something, making her less feared in the middle than she was previously.

Now Blizzard can burn more than half an enemy’s Energy in a single combo, and the increased range of Ice Splinter helps with HP “exchanges” in the lane – it used to be pretty easy to keep Blizzard at a distance, preventing her from hitting with her main attack ability. The “Blizzard” upgrade has also been reworked and is now a repeat of the Splinter upgrade.

Chains of Ice

  • now when enemies take damage from abilities cast by Cryo on Native Terrain they lose 2.5% Energy.

  • this talent has been reworked. Damage is now increased depending on the target’s slowdown. 1% slowdown = 1% additional damage.

Ice Splinter

  • ability radius increased by ~27%

  • when used on Native Terrain, this ability now burns 25% of the enemy’s Energy

Cold Mind

  • the amount of damage dealt now depends on Strength, not on Max Energy

Fang / Claw

Reasonable form upgraded

It should be noted that beast-form Fang is well-loved and plays great overall. But reasonable Claw, designed to target individuals, is used rarely, since the game has very few heroes that prefer to be alone – and after 20-25 minutes, there may no longer be any heroes playing alone on the whole map.

This forced reasonable Claw into an existential anguish, though perhaps one quite suited to his level of intelligence. This characteristic has been reworked completely. Reasonable Claw is now no longer a hunter of long targets but a capable fighter in group battles. His powers grow when wounded opponents are nearby.

Predatory Mania

  • to match the hero’s new mechanics, this ability’s name was changed (it was formerly Lone Beast)
  • it is now a passive ability, used independently of the Wild Beast talent, but that talent still must be present for this one to be activated.
  • the hero’s attacks now deal an extra 2-26 magical damage for each 10% health a nearby enemy hero is missing. If several enemy heroes are nearby, the one with the lowest health is used to determine this increase.

Transformation can now be activated manually

Players have often told us that Mimi’s late-game transformation, when the stakes are extremely high, causes considerable difficulties. At this stage in the game, the lanes are being pushed through, soldiers are far away, forest Touched are living less than a couple of seconds, and Rage is near impossible to obtain. So, to boost Mimi’s use by players in group battles, her transformation can now be done manually once she has accumulated 35 Rage.

Defend Yourself!

  • now an active ability. Can be activated once 35 Rage is accumulated.
  • cooldown: 120 seconds.

Somersaults have been sped up and the defensive power of the ability increased

Adjustments were primarily done to improve the feel of the game for this character.

  • movement speed increased by 25%

Whipped Cream

  • increased reduction in damage taken from 35 to 40%

Absolute Dominance Set

The “red axes” are likely the most debated talents in the game. The reason for this is simple: Prime. It’s keeping people from sleeping at night. Seriously, the axes created an imbalance in the way the Prime set worked. The core problem is that players with a full ax set almost always reach the key upper-tier talents. Grabbing an important talent or ultimate upgrade earlier than opponents is damn important, and if the level of gameplay is higher, this importance grows even more. The statistics and player feedback tell us the same thing here: because of the axes, the extra Prime set must be weakened.

Domination, Awe Striker, Hunter Dominance, Stalker Dominance, Absolute Dominance:

  • the amount of extra Prime obtained by finishing a soldier or Touched has been reduced from 7 to 6.

Fury Dominance

  • when used successfully, this talent now produces 45 Prime instead of 75.

Strength Dominance

  • the number of soldiers and Touched required to obtain extra Prime has been increased from 30 to 45.

Mental Dominance

  • the number of soldiers and Touched required to obtain extra Prime has been increased from 30 to 45.

Note: All talents from the Absolute Dominance set, as well as the exclusive talents Stalker Dominance and Hunter Dominance, have been removed from heroes and placed in the Library.

Treacherous Flame set

Treacherous Flame turned out to be too weak to compete with other tier 4 and 5 talents. The set’s damage has been increased and can now compete with the damage from a completely upgraded legendary “burn.”

Treacherous Flame

  • damage increased by 35%
  • duration reduced from 10 to 7 seconds. The interval between damage hits has also been reduced, from 1 to 0.7 seconds.

Flame of Discord

  • damage increased by ~27%

Flame of Decay

  • damage increased by ~27%

Flame of Chaos

  • additional damage dealt by the target of the talent to all nearby enemies has been increased from 50% to 100%.

Tirelessly Explosive

This upgrade has been completely reworked. Now, instead of reducing talent cooldown, it doubles the number of targets affected by the main talent. This makes this set more relevant in the mid to late game, since now one tier 5 talent from this set can deal 1210 damage across an area. Pretty strong!

Tirelessly Explosive

  • modified the set upgrade effect: the effect of the base talent now extends to 2 additional targets.

Crime and Punishment

  • implemented an automatic chat blocking system after match end. If a player is reported more than twice, the system will automatically check his messages for insults, swearing, and vulgar language.
