Community Member of the Week: Blood Lust

29 August 2013

Blood Lust is such a brutal name for such a wonderful community member. We noticed his positivity in the community (and his adorable Dragonwald monster guide), and we had to know more about him.

Blood Lust was recommended for this week's Community Member of the Week by Sturm Brightblade.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
What’s the story behind your name?
“Lust” is the name I’ve used in a couple of other games, mostly because it’s one of the deadly sins. When I switched factions from Imperium to Keepers, I didn’t want to pick a totally different name, so I picked “Blood Lust” due to Keepers’ predominant red color.
You wrote an adorable guide to the Dragonwald enemy camps. What was your inspiration?
I’ve met a lot of players in Dragonwald who didn’t really have a clue what they were doing, so I’ve decided to explain the camps to them in a forum guide. It needed a visual element, and I thought that drawing the monsters would be a better option than screenshotting each one of them.
Everyone we’ve talked to has said that you are one of the most positive community members in the game. Is that something that comes naturally, or do you have to work at it?
I’m a calm person in general. While I do have my slips, I’d like to think that I’m mostly a good person. I’ve never ever kicked a kitten if it counts.
How long have you played Prime World?
Ever since closed beta weekend #3. That’s about a couple of months, right? I still remember staying up as much as I could to play it, since closed beta weekends were limited to weekends only.
Favorite hero?
At this moment, possibly Archer/Amazon, but it’s also influenced by the fact that she’s the best equipped hero I have now. I like heroes with an escape mechanism.
Least favorite hero?
I can’t say that I’ve had fun playing Immortal/Highlander, due to it having a single active skill. It’s not a bad hero, because I hate playing against him as well, it’s just not for me.
Favorite mode?
I often queue for Outpost and Dragonwald when they are up, but I guess I’d choose Outpost as favorite because of the fast-paced action. The games are short enough that even if you lose, you won’t end up wasting a lot of time, as in other modes.
Least favorite mode?
Borderlands. This particular map is the one that brings fewest original elements into the genre. I’d rather have you guys completely replace Borderlands with a mix of Native Land and Apocalypse, to make the games more engaging.
How did you find out about the game?
Some guy on another MOBA’s forum mentioned Prime World, then I Googled the name and found the site. It was closed beta then, so I still required an invitation, but I got one in a couple of days after applying for it.
What was your first impression of the game?
I REALLY enjoyed the castle and quests. It gave me a feeling of progression. I’m sad there were so few quests, though.
What’s your favorite Prime World memory so far?
I’m not sure if I can point at a specific moment. Maybe the times when maps were on rotation because I could play all the modes. Ever since Borderlands has been added as a 24/7 map, it’s hard to find a game for other maps, especially Native Land and Apocalypse.
Do you have any other hobbies?
Besides Prime World, I play(ed) a lot of other (mostly single player) games. I also watch a lot of TV series online; a few episodes per week at least.
Do you have any advice for newer players?
I’d advise them to invest their resources mainly in production buildings, since they will produce even more resources in turn. Oh, and don’t do drugs, kids!
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I’d like to share an epic [Editor's Note: NSFW lyrics] YouTube video if it counts. It’s amazingly done, and the song is catchy!
